Galiano may feel like a world away, but we are only a 50 minute ferry ride from the mainland.
Please be sure to always make ferry reservations and be aware that grocery stores and restaurants are at the south of the island closer to the ferry terminal.
Getting here may not be half of the fun, but it is a pleasure. Think of the ferry as a cruise and spend your time on the deck whale spotting. It is only a short 50 minute sailing from Vancouver and typically 1-2 hours from Vancouver Island depending on the time of day.
Feeling like a rockstar? Take the floatplane! It is just a quick 20 minute flight from the South Terminal and you can rent mopeds or E Bikes to get up here from the dock.
If you are lost or need any assistance, please do not hesitate to call us!
From Vancouver and the Mainland:
From Vancouver, take BC-99 South, then BC-17 South to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal. You want the ferry to Sturdies Bay/Galiano.
It's a small boat, so be sure to reserve a spot for your car.
By Ferry - Victoria and Vancouver Island:
Depart on the Gulf Islands ferry from the Swartz Bay Terminal, North of Victoria.
Please note that this ferry does not offer reservations, so please be sure to show up early! We would recommend 1 hour most days of the year and 2 hours on weekends and holidays minimum.
There are schedule flights from the South Terminal at the Vancouver International Airport to Galiano twice a day. Reduce your travel time to 20 minutes! You can reach Seair Seaplanes here.
