Health and Hygiene – Updated as of May 20, 2020
At Bodega Ridge & Bodge Cove, we have developed a cleaning program that will introduce a new standard of cleanliness and disinfection to ensure Bodega guests enjoy an even cleaner and safer stay. The program has been developed with recommendations and guidelines laid out by the World Health Organization, as well as adherence to provincial and federal laws.
Bodega will build upon its already high standards of housekeeping and hygiene, where hospital-grade cleaning products and upgraded protocols are currently in use. Our new and improved cleaning program will include:
Extra Oxivir disinfection of top high touch areas in guest rooms including light switches and door handles
Increased cleaning frequency of public areas
Guest-accessible disinfecting wipes and sanitizer at entrances and high traffic areas
Enhanced cleaning & other changes to dining experiences
Enhanced Team Member safety and well-being with personal protective equipment and enhanced training and protocols
The rollout of our new cleaning program will begin at Bodega Ridge & Bodega Cove starting June 1, 2020.
Current Health and Hygiene Standards
We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Given the effects of COVID-19, we have taken additional measures in our hotels today, developed in consultation with global and local public health authorities (including the WHO and CDC), to make our cleaning and hygiene protocols even more rigorous:
Our teams are receiving ongoing briefings and enhanced operating protocols.
We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas (including lobbies, door handles, public bathrooms, etc.) and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant called Oxivir, which is recommended by Health Canada.
We will continue to adjust food and beverage service in accordance with current food safety recommendations.
A Note About Galiano Island
As a small island with an aged population, we and our guests must always respect the island residents that may have reservations about visitors and tourists during this current situation. Social distancing is required at least until the provincial government lifts that requirement. There are lots of open spaces around Galiano. Please ensure you take personal responsibility for the distance that you keep with other tourists and residents on the island.
Maintaining the Health & Safety of Our Guests
We must all do our part to help limit and stop the spread of COVID-19. Before you come to Bodega, please use the BC Self Assessment tool before coming. If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, and/or have been in contact with anyone who is confirmed or has symptoms, please stay home. If you have been out of the country, please ensure you have followed the mandated 14-day quarantine period before coming to Bodega.
